TRAINING OF MURIDEEN
 
PHASE - II
 
 
For better understanding of the subject please read
before reading the following Article
 
 
The Murideen of Shaikh Mir Asedullah Quadri, who will undergo training in Phase II,  are  expected to have  completed three months training in Phase I,  which means, they are  now performing Salah 5 times a day and doing Zikr daily  and have completed the Short Course on Sahih Iman - Part I.    
 
Some Murideen may take a little longer than 3 months to complete their Phase I training.  It is fine.  Everybody is allowed to move as per their convenience,  depending upon their demanding jobs and other compulsions. However, it is advisable that till they complete the Phase I training,  they should not jump into  Phase II.
 

Shaikh's Murideen are trained in three major areas;  (i) Iman, (ii) Islam, and (iii) Ihsan, as described in the following Hadith.   

It is in Hadith - Reported by Bukhari, Muslim and others.  It is narrated by Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعا لی عنہ) that one day Prophet Mohammad  ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) was sitting with his companions and a stranger, in spotless white dress, came to him and sat in front of him like a pupil, and asked him, O’ Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), tell me what is Iman?

The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) replied that ‘it is the affirmation of your faith in Allah  (سبحا نہ و تعا لی), His angels, His books, His meeting (on the Day of Judgment), His messengers, and that you affirm your faith in Resurrection’.

The stranger testified it, and asked again, O’ Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) what is Islam?

The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) replied that ‘Islam signifies that you worship Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی)  and do not associate anything with Him and you establish Obligatory Salah, and you pay the obligatory Zakah and you observe the fast of Ramadhan’.

The stranger testified it, and asked again, O’ Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) what is Ihsan?

The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) replied that ‘ you worship Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) seeing Him, and in case you fail to see Him, do your prayer knowing fully well that He is seeing you. The stranger testified and asked about the Resurrection to which the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) replied in detail  and later the stranger left quietly.

The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) asked his companions to go and look for the stranger and bring him back. When the companions did not find him, the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) asked his companions who he was? Then, the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) himself replied saying “he was Jibreel (علیھ السلا م ) who had come to teach you your religion”.

 

TRAINING IN IMAN 

To enlighten Muslim masses about Sahih Iman in the present day requirements of complex Muslim society, Shaikh has written a series of articles explaining the facts behind Sahih Iman, pinpointing the misunderstanding of Muslim Sectarian Groups in this context.  These articles are studied by Shaikh's Murideen in short courses as part of their of Training Programs.

 

TRAINING IN ISLAM 

Human being is the name of the confluence of “soul and corporeal (physical) body”. The reformation of corporeal body is done by observance of Islamic Law (Sharia) and Specific Sufi Practice (Tareeqah). The details are covered in various phases of the Training Program.  

 

TRAINING IN IHSAN 

The reformation of soul is done by ‘Gnosis’ (Ma’refah) and ‘Cognizance of Truth’ (Haqeeqah).  Details are covered in phases of Training Program.  

The training in all the above areas is inter-related.

 

 
TRAINING PROGRAM
 
(PHASE - II)
 
 3-Months Duration
 

(1) Repentance (Tauba) - When a person wants to walk on the straight path of Islam, first he has to repent for his  past forgetfulness in Deen. He should seek  pardon from Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) for his disobedience so far, with a firm resolution in heart and commitment by mouth (Dua),  that in future he will not disobey Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) and act on Sharia (Islamic Law) as far as possible. 

If he has squandered rights of other servants of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) he will try to compensates them, wherever possible. If he cannot do that, he seeks for their pardon from Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).  

Repentance is the attribute of heart and it is turning towards Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) with utmost sincerity.

It is in  Quran -  وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ جَاءُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللَّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا اللَّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا  [Meaning - Those who have committed oppression on themselves (by committing sins), if they had come to you (O'Prophet - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and pray for Allah’s - سبحانہ و تعا لی  pardon and the Prophet - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم also prays for their forgiveness  from Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی , then they would have found Allah- سبحانہ و تعا لی to be Merciful and most willing to accept their repentance].  (An-Nisa - 64).

It is evident from the above that, if you want to make sure that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) has forgiven you for your past deeds,  self repentance alone may  not be sufficient.  It is advisable to take benediction from a person of illuminated heart (meaning your Shaikh).  As long as the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) was alive, he himself used to pray for individuals’  forgiveness from Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).  And now, when he is hidden from the eyes of general people, then his  appointed Shaikh will pray for the forgiveness which is expected to be granted by Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی).
 
Needless to say that Shaikh Mir Asedullah Quadri, prays for Allah's  (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) pardon for everyone of us in general and  his Murideen and their family members, in particular.   
 
What is the effect of  'Repentance'? 
 
It is in Quran -   إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِينَ   [Meaning - Certainly  Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) likes those who repent] (Al-Baqara - 222).
 
It is in Quran  -  وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَعْفُو عَنِ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ (Meaning - He is the One that accepts repentance from His Servants and forgives sins, and He knows all that you do) (Ash-Shura - 25).
 
It is in Quran -  قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ - (Meaning "Say (O'Prophet - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) - O' my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-Zumar - 53).
 
It is in Hadith - The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said: “Every son of Adam ( علیھ السلا م ) commits sin and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.”  (Tirmidhi, 2499;  Ibn Maajah, 4251).
 
It is in Hadith - Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) as saying -  Allah, (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  said - I live in the thought of My servant and I am with him as he remembers Me. The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) further said -  By Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی);  Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than what one of you would do on finding the lost camel in the waterless desert. When he draws near Me by the span of his hand. I draw near him by the length of a cubit and when he draws near Me by the length of a cubit. I draw near him by the length of a fathom and when he draws near Me walking I draw close to him hurriedly.  All sins are pardoned by Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) when one sincerely  repents and the person becomes sinless as he is just born (Muslim - Hadith # 6610).
 
HOW REPENTANCE IS DONE 
 
Recite Durood Sharif three times and then recite the following 2 supplications at least once in a day, preferably after doing your daily Zikr and prostrate and pray Allah  (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) for His pardon.  Continue this practice for three months.
 
(1)  اسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبِّىْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ اَذْنَبْتُه عَمَدًا اَوْ خَطَاً سِرًّا اَوْ عَلَانِيَةً  وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ مِنْ الذَّنْبِ الَّذِىْ اَعْلَمُ وَ مِنْ الذَّنْبِ الَّذِىْ لا اَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الغُيُبِ وَ سَتَّارُ الْعُيُوْبِ و َغَفَّارُ الذُّنُوْبِ وَ لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّهِ الْعَلِىِّ العَظِيْم  
 
Astaġfiru-llāha rabbī  min  kulli  ḏanbin  aḏnabtuhu ʿamadan  aw khaṭāʾan,    sirran   aw  ʿalāniyyatan,  wa atūbu  ilayhi mina - ḏḏanbi - llaḏī   aʿlamu   wa   mina-llaḏī  lā aʿlamu   innaka   anta ʿallāmu-l-ġuyūbi   wa sattāru-l-ʿuyūbi   wa ġaffāru-ḏḏunūbi   wa   lā ḥawla  wa  lā   quwwata   illā   bi-llāhi-l-ʿaliyyi-l-ʿaẓīm

(Meaning - I seek forgiveness from my Lord, who is my Creator and Cherisher, from every sin I committed knowingly or unknowingly, secretly or openly. I also seek His forgiveness for all sins which I am aware of or am not aware of. Certainly You (O' Allah - سبحا نہ و تعا لی), are the Knowledgeable of the hidden and the Concealer of mistakes and the Forgiver of sins. And there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.)

 

(2) Allahumma inni as'aluka wa atwajjahu elaika bi habeebikal  Mustafa indaka ya habeebana  ya mohammadi  inna natawassalu bika  ila  rabbika  fashfa'a lanaa  indal maulal a'zeemi  ya ni'amar rasoolut tahiru.  Allahumma shaffi'ahu  feena  bijaahihi  indaka". 

(Meaning - O'Allah  (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) I implore, I beg to you with the mediation (waseelah) of your revered beloved (Prophet -  صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) who is chosen by you.  O' Beloved of the Al-mighty, O' Mohammad ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) we implore to Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) with your mediation (Waseelah).  Kindly mediate  (shafa'a) for us with the Exalted Almighty Allah.  O' Sacred Apostle  ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم),  O' Allah  (سبحا نہ و تعا لی), kindly accept the intercession (Shafa'a) of our Prophet  ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) for us in view of the honor and grace he has with you.)

Calling Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) as  Ya Rasulullah, Ya Habeeballah, Ya Mohammad, Ya Habeebana,  Ya Mustafa  ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) (after his death)  is  confirmed by Tirmizi, Nasa'i, Ibn Huzeema, Hakim and Baihaqi.  The above supplication (Dua) is mentioned in the books of all these Hadith scholars. The Dua  confirms that we must supplicate by taking the Waseelah of Prophet Mohammad  ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).

As a matter of  fact  our Dua  will not be accepted by Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) if we do not recite Durood on Prophet Mohammad  ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) before and after the Dua and seek Allah's favor by the mediation (Waseelah) of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).

It is in Quran - يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَابْتَغُوا إِلَيْهِ الْوَسِيلَةَ وَجَاهِدُوا  فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ  (Meanaing -O' you who believe! Do your duty to Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی), seek Waseelah (the means of approach) unto Him (Allah - سبحا نہ و تعا لی) , and strive with might and main in His cause: that you may prosper). (Al-Ma'eda - 35).
 
It is in Hadith - Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported  "The people were afflicted with drought in the time of Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) , so whilst the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) was giving Sermon (Khutbah) on the day Jumah, a Bedouin stood and said, O'Messenger of Allah ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)! the livestock are dying and the children are hungry, so supplicate to Allah for us.  So he (the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)  raised his hands and supplicated and we could not see any trace of clouds.  By Him, in whose hands is my soul, as soon as he lowered his hands, clouds like mountains had gathered and he did not descend from his Pulpit (minbar) until I saw rain dripping from his beard. (Bukhari ).  
It is in Hadith - Anas Ibn Malik (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrates from Umar Ibn Khattab (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that when the people suffered from drought he used to ask Abbas Ibn Mutallib (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) to pray for rain for them. He used to say: “O Allah we used to request our Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) to supplicate to You for rain, and You would bless us with rain. Now, we ask the uncle of our Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) to supplicate to You, so grant us rain. (Bukhari). Read more about Waseelah
 
(2) Once you have done 'Sincere Repentance' (Taubatan Nasooha),  then refrain from everything which is Haraam in Islam. 
 
 
(3)  Women should not wear revealing dresses.  They should cover their bodies in a decent way.
 
 It is in Quran - يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَابِيبِهِنَّ ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ  أَدْنَىٰ أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا (Meaning - O' Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (Abaya) close round them (when they go out of their homes). That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not annoyed. Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) is ever Forgiving, Merciful. (Al-Ahzab - 59).
 
There is a difference of opinion among Islamic scholars on the issue of women wearing Hijaab (covering the body decently except face and hands) or Niqaab (covering the body and whole face except eyes). Some women use only head scarf to cover their heads.  This is known as  'Khimar'  (خمار).  
 
There are certain countries in the world where Niqab, Hijab  or even Khimar (Head Scarf) for women is made unlawful and is seen with suspicion and hatred.  In such places, women can wear a decent Abaya (long over garment) over their dress and somehow try to fulfill Islamic obligations within the ambient of local laws and cultural compulsions. 
 
(4) Men and Women should make sure that they do not get involved in dating or relationships as these are unlawful in Islam.  Also, Muta' (Shia practice of keeping women in sexual relationship) and Misyaar (Salafi practice of keeping women in  sexual relationship ) are Haraam in Islam. The difference between Muta', Misyaar and Conventional Islamic Marriage is described below. 
 
(i) In Muta' partners establish a consensual sexual relationship for a specific time, like a few weeks or a few months.
 
(ii) In Misyaar, they establish consensual sexual relationship without fixing a time frame.
 
(iii) In Conventional Islamic Marriage the bond between the spouses is permanent for life  (unto death) and it is Sunnah, though there is a provision for divorce under certain unavoidable circumstances. 
 
In Muta' and Misyaar,  the relationship is established purely for lust and both partners know that it is not an Islamic Marriage, rather it is consensual sexual relationship, without any liabilities and maintenance on both partners which will be broken for sure and partners will walk away from each other after some time.  Muta' and Misyaar are blatant misrepresentation of Islamic laws about marriage and the whole world knows that Shias, Salafis, Ahle Hadith and their like minded groups have legalized prostitution among their followers.  

It is a good idea to marry a Sahih Ul Aqeedah Muslim. If you marry a Salafi or Deobandi or Shia or like minded, then  there is a strong possibility that you will end up explaining him / her what is 'Correct Islamic Faith' (Sahih Iman) the rest of your life. Your home may become a battlefield of debate, argument and most of the time you will end up lonely with  hurt feelings in view of adamant attitude of your spouse.
     
(5) Primary responsibility of financial support of family has been bestowed upon the husband in Islam. However, if  your wife has to work to support the family or contribute to the society significantly, then ensure her security, safety and respect from all kinds of hazards, in  and outside her working place.  It is a good idea if her job does not contradict Islamic Laws.   Pray Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) to help you find a suitable job in this context. 
 
It is in Hadith - Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) as saying -  Allah, (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  said - I live in the thought of My servant and I am with him as he remembers Me. (Muslim).
 
Do not think that it is difficult to live as per Islamic Sharia in the present day world.  It may be difficult, particularly in the Western world, but definitely not impossible.  If you sincerely pray,   Allah (سبحا نہ و تعا لی) will open many vistas that will support you to lead a happy Islamic life.
 
(6) Continue the Salah, Zikr and other routine as detailed in Phase I training. 
 
(7) It is a good idea to learn Arabic language so that we are able to read, write and understand Quran and Ahadith. Learning Arabic is freely available on Internet. Many such sites are identified at this location  Learn Arabic online.
 
(8) Reading Quran with correct pronunciation (Tajweed) is important. Learning Tajweed online is available on many Websites on internet.  A few of these sites are identified at this location Learn Tajweed-ul-Quran online
 
(9)  Short Course on Sahih Iman, Part II  is provided at this location (Sahi Iman Short Course II). It is important that you read the entire information in this short course and try to remember the Ahadith and Quranic verses mentioned in the Short course.  This will be helpful for you to understand Sahih Iman in the present day complex Muslim society.
