العقيدة الإسلامية الصحيحة

Many of our readers have requested us to write about  to know more about him and his beliefs and teachings. Detailed information about the teachings of Shaikh Imran Nazar Hosein are available on Most of the information about him in this article has also been taken from the above Website and other sources available in public domain. We have refrained from giving any personal opinions all through the article. We hope, our readers will appreciate and benefit from this information.

Shaikh Imran Nazar Hosein was born in 1942 in the Caribbean Island of Trinidad to the descendants of indentured laborers from India. It is reported that he graduated in 1971 with a degree in Islamic Studies from the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies (AIIS), Karachi, Pakistan.

Aleemiyah Institute was established in 1964 by Dr. Muhammad Fazlur Rahman Ansari (1914-1974), the son in law and successor of Maulana Abdul Aleem Siddiqui. He was also founding president of the World Federation of Islamic Missions.

Shaikh Imran Hosein is also reported to have studied at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt; University of West Indies at Trinidad, and Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. He  served briefly as a Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Trinidad and Tobago.  However, he quit this job in 1985.

He has written 12 books.  He traveled extensively and gave lectures in many countries.   In most of his speeches, he focuses on Zionism and its evil effects in the world.  His other focus area is his strange interpretations of Ahadith and Quranic verses about end times

Shaikh Imran criticizes Israel, US and other European nations for their conspiracy to destroy Muslim countries in the world. He is against American militaristic and financial domination in the world.  He is against paper currency and considers Dollar transactions as evil.  He claims that Israel will soon become super power in the world after the destruction of America  However, these issues are not the focus of our discussion in this article.

Shaikh Imran Hosein lived in New York for 10 years and served as an Imam at the Dar al-Qur'an Mosque in Long Island, New York. He also directed the joint weekly Friday prayers and the sermon at the headquarters of the United Nations in Manhattan once a month for ten years.  It is reported that he was involved in inter-faith dialogue with Christians and Jews during his stay in the US.

He was Director of Dawa, Tanzeem-e-Islami of North America. Currently he lives in Kualalampur, Malaysia.

It is written on official Tanzeem-e-Islami Website (FAQ 2) that Dr. Israr Ahmad (1932–2010) was a Pakistani national, who portrayed himself as a product of the teachings of Abul Ala Maududi,  Founder of Jama'at-e-Islami, Pakistan.  Dr. Israr Ahmed considered Maulana Maududi to be his teacher and mentor and publicly admitted, without hesitation, that he was able to understand the comprehensive and holistic concept of Islamic obligations from the writings of Maulana Maududi. Read more...

Dr. Israr was a die hard follower of Maududi and an active member of Jamaat-e-Islami right from his youth. In 1957 he founded an Organization titled 'Tanzeem-e-Islami'.

Dr. Israr Ahmad remained a highly controversial figure throughout his life.  He was banned from appearing on QTV - Pakistan, and Vision TV - Canada for his controversial statements

Watch this video clip in which he slanders on Hadhrat Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ).

Dr. Israr later apologized to the people for his disrespect for Hadhrat Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)Watch this video clip.

Dr. Israr Ahmed was a regular preacher on Peace TV, India which propagates Salafi, Deobandi and Jama'at-e-Islami beliefs.  Dr. Zakir Naik, who owns Peace TV,  considers Dr. Israr Ahmad as his teacher.

Dr. Israr Ahmed supported Yazid's actions against Imam Hussain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and used to say رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ with Yazid's name.  He also claimed that Imam Hussain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) was wrong and his killing was a right action.  Allahu Akbar.  As per his anti ahle baith rhetoric, he alleged that a Mufti had given fatwa against Imam Hussain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) before Karabala episode to legitimize his killing. Allahu Akbar. There are people in our times who talk like this.  Indeed Dr. Israr talks are worst than Kharijis. This is a Salafi zionist  rhetoric to demonize Ahle Bait-e-Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). We can imagine what might have happened to Dr. Israr after his death and what kind of Azab is inflicted upon him in his grave.

Dr. Israr had a high regard for Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Qayyim, Abd al-Wahhab and other Salafi scholars and openly supported their ill conceived Islamic ideology.  He also spearheaded the thinking of Hamiduddin Farahi (1863-1930), Amin Ahsan Islahi (1904-1997), Abul Aala Maududi (1903-1979), etc., who are well known for their hardcore Salafi / Deobandi beliefs.   Read Maududi's beliefs.

The Ideology of Tanzeem e Islami

The ideology of Tanzeem-e-Islami founded by Dr. Israr Ahmad is similar to Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a radical Islamist Organization which was founded in East Jerusalem in 1953, by Taqi al-din al-Nabhani (1909-1977), a radical Activist who was active member of Muslim Brotherhood, a radical Salafi outfit of Egypt.  After the death of an-Nabhani, in 1977, a Palestinian resident of Hebron named Abd al-Qadim Zalum became Head of Hizb-ut-Tahrir and continued till his death in 2003.  Since 2003,  Hizb-ut-Tahrir  is headed by Ata Abu al-Rishta, a Jordanian national of Palestinian origin.

Since Shaikh Imran Hosein has been associated as Director of Dawa of Tanzeem-e-Islami, North America, it is obvious that he regards Dr. Israr Ahmad as his teacher and Islamic role model.  As Director of Tanzeem e Islami, it is but natural that he propagated the teachings of Dr. Israr Ahmed and his Tanzeem in the world..

When we listen to the speeches of Shaikh Imran Hosein, these look mostly based on the common ideology of Jamaat-e-Islami,  Tanzeem-e-Islami, Hizb-ut-tahrir, etc.   Read more...

Some of Shaikh Imran's followers claim that even though he was the Director of Dawa, Tanzeem e Islami, United States, he may have not agreed with the Tanzeem's or Dr. Israr's views?

The above is a wishful thinking.  They should know that no one will join a political party or an organization unless he believes in the party's policies, concepts and ideology.  If someone joins a party to become a Minister or gain some monetary benefit, then he will be treated as a hypocrite (Munafeq).  Like the present day politicians who change political parties like we change our cloths.  But this thing cannot be said in religion.  If Shaikh Imran joined Tanzeem and became its US Director of Dawa for publicity purposes or some monetary gain without agreeing to its policies and purposes, then he will also be treated as a hypocrite. Which we think is not true.  He did believe in Tanzeem and its leader Dr. Israr Ahmad.   Also, Dr. Israr would not have given him this big responsibility unless he was sure that Dr. Imran was the right candidate for this big job.  Shaikh Imran must have been the right hand and most trusted deputy of Israr Ahmad which was the reason he was made Director of Dawa of the Tanzeen in US.

Some of his followers claim that Shaikh Imran initially studied in Karachi in an Ahle Sunnah Instition therefore he should not be treated as a Deobandi?

These followers should know that all important scholars and big names in Deobandi sub sect of Salafism/Wahhabism studied in Ahle Sunnah Madrasas because in their childhood there was nothing which could be called a Deobandi Darul Uloom. Also, they were Murideen in Ahle Sunnah Silsilas.  However, later in their lives, they got influenced by Salafis/Wahabis and started new groups like Deobandis, Ahle Hadith, Tabhlighee Jamaat, Jamaat e Islami, etc.   Similar is the case with Shaikh Imran.  Initially he studied in an Ahle Sunnah Madrasa but later he got influenced from Salafi scholars like Dr. Israr and joined his Tanzeem and became its head in US.

As regards to Shaikh Imran criticizing Salafis in his bayans, his followers should know that all Ammani scholars also criticize Salafis. But they have signed a document called Amman Message to attest Salafis as true Muslims.  Similarly, Shaikh Imran may be criticizing Salafis in front of his followers, but he becoming the President of a Salafi Tanzeem e Islamic, tells volumes about his Salafi beliefs.

A detailed account of Shaikh Imran Hosein's beliefs and teachings are available on his official websites. Some of these beliefs are provided below.

(1) "I am a Sunni, in the sense that I am not Shia.  I follow Hanafi fiqh.  Beyond that I will not reply.  I prefer to call myself only as 'Muslim".

Shaikh Imran does not want to openly admit that he belongs to Tanzeem e Islami / Jama'at e Islami.  He claims he is a Sunni.

It is interesting to note that all Salafi splinter groups, like Deobandis, Jamaat-e-Islami, Tabhlighee Jamaat, etc., who came into existence because of Salafi influence, call themselves Ahle Sunnah wal Jama'a.  Whereas they are sub groups of Salafism.  Read more...

(2) "I have never mentioned anywhere in my life that Ibn Abd al Wahhab was misguided or guided. I do not intend to do so now.  I stay away from Sectarian divide."

The above statement is to confuse innocent Muslims. This is the tactics used by Salafi Sub Groups to fool innocent Muslims.

(3) "On celebration of Milad un Nabi (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), my choice is to mark the occasion in individual solitary private spiritual devotion rather than collective public celebration. I suggest that my students do the same".

The splinter Salafi sub groups do not deny Milad un Nabi  (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), rather they cannot deny it,  but somehow they discourage people from its celebration. They do not mind celebrating their national days, and indulge in various other celebrations in their lives.

(4) "Until such time the Khilafah is restored, Bay'a should be local with an Ameer and in a Jama'at."

The above is a Deobandi/Tabhlighee belief.  Watch his words, he is saying "Ameer" and "Jama'at".

(5) "I am not a Sufi Shaikh. I am not a Murshid in a Sufi Order. I do not belong to any Sufi Order. The pursuit of Islamic spirituality does not require joining a Sufi order. Such a thing is not a requirement for the pursuit of Islamic spirituality".

The above is  a Salafi belief.

(6) Imran Hosein claims that Gog and Magog (يأجوج ومأجوج) have already been released in the world.  He says  Gog is American Israeli alliance; and Magog is Russia. He based this strange hypothesis on his  misinterpretation of Quranic verses 95 & 96 of Sura al Anbiya. He claims that the word (town) قرية in these verses refers to 'Jerusalem'. This hypothesis is written in his book titled "Jerusalem in Quran".

The above claim seems to be a fiction originated in the mind of Shaikh Imran Hosein.

(7) Shaikh Imran Hosein claims the sun has already risen from the west.  He argues that the understanding of Muslims about  the sun rising from the west in the end times is wrong. According to him, it means 'the false western sunrise', meaning Western secular civilization dominating the entire world.

The above strange logic can only be accepted by his followers.

Watch the following video clip, even Salafis have refuted Shaikh Imran's  above claims.

(8) Shaikh Imran claimed that Dajjal is in UK.  He misinterpreted many Ahadith in this context.

Watch the following video clip how Imran Hosein is trying to prove the existence of  Dajjal in the world by giving an example of human surgery in a hospital.  Only his followers can accept such pure fiction.

There is some confusion in the minds of people and among some of our scholars about the appearance of Dajjal in the end times.  There is a Hadith of Tamim ad Dari in which Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) described about Dajjal.  We have provided the Hadith below for our readers.
It is in Hadith - Amir b. Sharahil Sha'bi Sha'b Hamdan (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that he asked Fatima, daughter of Qais and sister of ad-Dahhak b. Qais (رضئ اللھ تعالی عنہم اجمعین ) and she was the first amongst the emigrant women: Narrate to me a Hadith which you had heard directly from Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)
and there is no extra link in between them. She said: Very well, if you like, I am prepared to do that, and he said to her: Well, do it and narrate that to me. She said: I married the son of Mughira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and he was a chosen young man of Quraish at that time, but he fell as a martyr in the first Jihad on the side of Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). When I became a widow, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Auf (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ), one amongst the group of the Companions of Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), sent me the proposal of marriage. Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) also sent me such a message for his freed slave Usama b. Zaid (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ). And it had been conveyed to me that Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) had said (about Usama): He who loves me should also love Usima. When Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) talked to me (about this matter), I said: My affairs are in your hand. You may marry me to anyone whom you like. He said: You better shift now to the house of Umm Sharik, and Umm Sharik was a rich lady from amongst the Anqir. She spent generously for the cause of Allah and entertained guests very hospitably. I said: Well, I will do as you like. He said: Do not do that for Umm Sharik is a woman who is very frequently visited by guests and I do not like that your head may be uncovered or the cloth may be removed from your shank and the strangers may catch sight of them which you abhor. You better shift to the house of your cousin 'Abdullah b. 'Amr b. Umm Maktum (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and he is a person of the Bani Fihr branch of the Quraish, and he belonged to that tribe (to which Fatima) belonged. So I shifted to that house, and when my period of waiting was over, I heard the voice of an announcer making an announcement that the prayer would be observed in the mosque (where) congregational prayer (is observed).

So I set out towards that mosque and observed prayer along with Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and I was in the row of the women which was near the row of men. When Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) had finished his prayer, he sat on the pulpit smiling and said: Every worshiper should keep sitting at his place. He then said: Do you know why I had asked you to assemble? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: By Allah. I have not made you assemble for exhortation or for a warning, but I have detained you here, for Tamim Dari, a Christian, who came and accepted Islam, told me something, which agrees with what I was telling, you about the Dajjal.
He (Tamim Dari) narrated to me that he had sailed in a ship along with thirty men of Bani Lakhm and Bani Judham and had been tossed by waves in the ocean for a month. Then these (waves) took them (near) the land within the ocean (island) at the time of sunset. They sat in a small side-boat and entered that Island. There was a beast with long thick hair (and because of these) they could not distinguish his face from his back. They said: Woe to you, who can you be? Thereupon it said: I am al-Jassasa. They said: What is al-Jassasa? And it said: O people, go to this person in the monastery as he is very much eager to know about you. He (the narrator) said: When it named a person for us we were afraid of it lest it should be a Devil. Then we hurriedly went on till we came to that monastery and found a well-built person there with his hands tied to his neck and having iron shackles between his two legs up to the ankles. We said: Woe be upon thee, who are you? And he said: You would soon come to know about me. but tell me who are you. We said: We are people from Arabia and we embarked upon a boat but the sea-waves had been driving us for one month and they brought as near this island. We got Into the side-boats and entered this island and here a beast met us with profusely thick hair and because of the thickness of his hair his face could not be distinguished from his back. We said: Woe be to thee, who are you? It said: I am al-Jassasa. We said: What is al-Jassasa? And it said: You go to this very person in the monastery for he is eagerly waiting for you to know about you. So we came to you in hot haste fearing that,  that might be the Devil.
He (that chained person) said: Tell me about the date-palm trees of Baisan. We said: About what aspect of theirs do you seek information? He said: I ask you whether these trees bear fruit or not. We said: Yes Thereupon he said: I think these would not bear fruits.
He said: Inform me about the lake of Tabariyya? We said: Which aspect of it do you want to know? He said: Is there water in it? They said: There is abundance of water in it. Thereupon he said: I think it would soon become dry.
He again said: Inform me about the spring of Zughar. They said: Which aspect of it you want to know? He (the chained person) said: Is there water in it and does it irrigate (the land)? We said to him: Yes, there is abundance of water in it and the inhabitants (of Medina) irrigate (land) with the help of it.
He said: Inform me about the unlettered Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم); what has he done? We said: He has come out from Mecca and has settled In Yathrib (Medina). He said: Do the Arabs fight against him? We said: Yes. He said: How did he deal with them? We informed him that he had overcome those in his neighborhood and they had submitted themselves before him. Thereupon he said to us: Had it actually happened? We said: Yes. Thereupon he said: If it is so that is better for them that they should show obedience to him.
(Then he said) I am going to tell you about myself and I am Dajjal and would be soon permitted to get out and so I shall get out and travel in the land, and will not spare any town where I would not stay for forty nights except Mecca and Medina as these two (places) are prohibited (areas) for me and I would not make an attempt to enter any one of these two. An angel with a sword in his hand would confront me and would bar my way and there would be angels to guard every passage leading to it; then Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) striking the pulpit with the help of the end of his staff said: This implies Taiba meaning Medina. Have I not, told you an account (of the Dajjal) like this? 'The people said: Yes, and this account narrated by Tamim Dari was liked by me for it corroborates the account which I gave to you in regard to him (Dajjal) at Medina and Mecca. Behold he (Dajjal) is in the Syrian sea (Mediterranian) or the Yemen sea (Arabian sea). Nay, on the contrary, he is in the East, he is in the East, he is in the East, and he pointed with his hand towards the East. I (Fatima bint Qais) said: I preserved it in my mind (this narration from Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). [ Muslim ]
In view of their inability to comprehend Aalam e Mithaal, various theories have been developed in interpreting the above Hadith.  Read carefully the wordings of the Hadith.
"I am going to tell you about myself and I am Dajjal and would be soon permitted to get out and so I shall get out and travel in the land"
The above wordings indicate that what Tamim ad Dar and his companions witnessed was not related to our physical world.  For a brief period, Aalam-e-Mithal ( The world of Similitude ) was opened  for them and they witnessed that episode.  They did reach to an island somewhere in the East of Madinah but what they witnessed was not related to our physical world.  If it was our physical world, then it cannot escape from our modern day satellites/laser guided Google map pointer.
Our Physical World (The world of Manifestation) is a reflection of Aalam e Mithaal, and there are directions, East-West-North-South in Aalam e Mithaal as well.  Yes, Dajjal is imprisoned in the East of Madina, but his current place is related to Aalam e Mithaal.  He has not yet been released to come to our Physical World.
In view of their inability to understand Aalam e Mithaal, many scholars have developed their own stories about the existence of Dajjal in our physical world.  And they relate some happenings in our world to indicate the presence of Dajjal in our world. Some people even claim that Imam Mahdi is available in our world but is hidden.  This is all fiction that has no relevance to Islamic facts.
It is important that people should not get confused from these so called Ulema who have spread all kinds of stories about Hadhrat Imam Mahdi (as), Dajjal and end times.
To protect our Sahih Iman, we need to understand Islamic issues in the light of Quran and Ahadith.  It is important that we walk on the right path of Islam for our welfare in this world and salvation in Hereafter.
