What has been related about the virtues of sitting in the Mosque and waiting for  Salah

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 182

Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'One of you does not cease to be in Salah as long as he is waiting for it. And the angels do not cease praying for one of you as long as he remains in the Masjid (saying) : 'Allah! Forgive him. O Allah! Have mercy upon him' - as long as he does not commit Hadath.' A man from Hadramawt asked, what is Hadath Abu Hurairah(رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)?' He said : 'Breaking wind, or passing gas'.

There are narrations on this topic from Aliu, Abu Sa'id, Anas, Abadullah bin Masud and Sahl bin Sa'd Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.

CHAPTER (129)

What has been related about Salah on a Khumrah (small mat)

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 183
Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) prayed on a Khumrah (small mat made of date palm leaves).

There are narrations on this topic from Ummahatul Momineen Aisha, Maimuna, Umm Habiba, Umm Salama; Ibn Umar, Umm Sulaim (mother of Anas bin Malik) and Umm Kulthum bint Abi Salama bin Abdul Asad - (and she did not hear from the Prophet ﷺ) Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  And it is the saying of some of the people of knowledge.  Ahmad and Ishaq said : Salah on the Kumrah is confirmed from the Prophet Imam Tirmidhi said the Khumra is a small mat  (حَصِيرٌ قَصِيرٌ).

Abu Sa'eed (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) prayed on a Hasir (mat).

There are narrations on this topic from Anas and Al-Mughira bin Shubah Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Sa'id (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Hadith.  Most of the people of knowledge act according to this, except that there are those among the people of knowledge who prefer Salah on the earth, considering it recommended.  Abu Sufyan's (one of the narrators) name is Talha bin Nafi.

CHAPTER (131)

What has been related about Salah on rugs

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 185

Anas bin Malik (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) used to mingle with us such that he said to my younger brother : 'O Abu Umair (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)! What did the Nughair (small bird) do?' He (Anas - رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said : 'A Bisat (rug/Carpet) of ours would be sprinkled (with water) to perform Salah.'

There is something on this topic from Ibn Abbas Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and those after them among the Tabi'een.  They did not see any harm in Salah on a rug or mat.  This is the saying of Ahmad and Ishaq.  And the name of Abu at-Tayyah (one of the narrators) is Yazid bin Humaid.

CHAPTER (132)

Mu'adh ibn Jabal (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) liked to perform Salah in Gardens."

Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Mu'ad is a Gharib Hadith.  We do not know of it except as a narration of Al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far who was graded weak by Yahya bin Sa'id and others.  The name of Abu Zubair (one of the narrators) is Muhammad bin Muslim bin Tadrus.  The name of Abu Tufail (one of the narrators) is Amir bin Wathilah.

Imam Abu Dawood said, Hitan means gardens (surrounded by wall or fences).

CHAPTER (133)

What has been related about the screen (Sutra) for the one performing Salah

Muba bin Talhah narrated from his father (Talhah -  رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When one of you placed something like the post (handle) of the camel saddle in front of him, then let him perform Salah and not concern himself with who passes beyond that.'

There are narrations on this topic from Abu Huraira, Sahl bin Abi Hathma, Ibn Umar, Sabra bin Ma'bad (al-Juhni), Abu Juhaifa and Ummul Momineen Aisha Imam Tirmidhi  said the Hadith of Talba is a Hasan Sahih Hadith and this is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.  They say that the Imam's Sutra is the Sutra for whoever is behind him.

CHAPTER (134)

What has been related about the dislike for passing in front of the person performing salah

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 188

Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhni sent a message to Abu Juhaim (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) asking him what he had heard from the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) about passing in front of a person who was performing Salah. Abu Juhaim (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said,  Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'If the one who passed in front of the person performing Salah knew what he was doing, then for him to stop and wait for forty -- would be better for him than to pass in front of him.'  Abu an-Nadr (one of the narrators) said : 'I do not know if he said forty days, months or years.'

Imam Tirmidhi said there are narrations on this topic from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, Abu Huraira, Ibn Umar and Abdullah bin Amr Imam Tirmidhi said  the Hadith of Abu Juhaim is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  It has been related that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, 'it would be better for one of you to stop (and wait) for a hundred years than to pass in front of his brother while he is performing Salah'.  This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.  They dislike passing in front of the person who is performing Salah, but they do not think that doing so would sever the man's salah.  Abu An-Nadr's name is Salim, the freed slave of Umar bin Ubaidullah al-Madhini.

CHAPTER (135)

What has been related about the Salah is not severed by anything

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 189

Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that he was a companion rider on a female donkey with Al-Fadl (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ). 'We came while the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and his Companions were praying at Mina.' He said : 'We dismounted from it and joined the row. The donkey then passed in front of them, and this did not invalidate their Salah.'

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  It is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge among the Companions of Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and those after them among the Tabi'een who say that the Salah is not severed by anything.  This is the saying of Sufyan Ath-Thawri and Ash-Shafii.

CHAPTER (136)

What has been related about Salah is not severed except by a dong, a donkey and a woman

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 190

Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When a man performs Salah and there is nothing in front of him like the post of a saddle, or a camel saddle, then his Salah is severed by (passing of) a black dog, a woman, and a donkey.' It was said to Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) : 'What is the problem with the black dog rather than the red or white one?' He said : 'O my nephew! I asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) just as you have asked me. He said : 'The black dog is a Shaitan (devil).'

There are narrations on this topic from Abu Sa'id, Al-Hakam (bin Umar), Al-Ghifari, Abu Huraira and Anas Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  Some of the people of knowledge hold a view that the Salah is severed by the donkey, the woman, and the black dog.  Ahmad said : 'the one that there is no doubt in,   is that the (passing of the) black dog severs the Salah and to me there is a problem with the donkey and the woman.  Ishaq said, nothing severs the Salah except the black dog.

CHAPTER (137)

Umar bin Abi Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that he saw the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)  in the house of Ummul Momineen Umm Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) wrapped in one garment.

There are narrations on this topic from Abu Huraira, Jabir, Salama bin Al-Akwa, Anas, Amr bin Abi Asid, Abu Sa'id, Kaisan, Ibn Abbas, Ummul Momineen Aisha, Umm Hadi, Ammar bin Yasir, Talq bin Ali and Ubadah bin As-Samit al-Ansari Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Umar bin Abi Salama (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and those after them among the Tabi'een and others.  They say that there is no harm in praying in one garment.  Some of the people of knowledge have said that a man should perform Salah in two garments.

Al-Bara bin Azib (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that when the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) arrived in Madinah, he faced Bait Al-Maqdis in Salah for sixteen or seventeen months. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) longed to face the direction of the Ka'ba, so Allah Most High revealed - ‏قَدْ نَرَى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَاءِ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَاهَا فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ‏ [ Verily! We have seen the turning of your face towards the heaven. Surely We shall turn you to a Qiblah that shall please you. So turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram]. (Al-Baqara - 144).  So he faced the Ka'ba, and he liked that. A man prayed Asr with him then passed by some of the Ansar who were bowing in Salah for Asr while facing Bait Al-Maqdis.' He told them that he had faced the direction of the Ka'ba, so they changed (their direction) while they were bowing.'

There are narrations on this topic from Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, Umarah bin Aws, Amr bin Awf Al-Muzani and Anas Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Al-Bara (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  It has also been narrated by Sufyan Ath-Thawri from Abu Ishaq.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 193

Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said that they were bowing during the Subh (Fajr) Prayer (when they were informed about the change of Qibla by a companion of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) who had performed Salah with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).

Imam Tirmidhi said that Ibn Umar's (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

CHAPTER (139)

What has been related about 'what is between the east and te west is a Qibla

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 194

Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'What is between the east and the west,  is Qibla.'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 195

There is another chain with a similar narration attributed to Abu Huraira

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) has been narrated from him by other routes (as well).  Some of the people of knowledge have criticized Abu Mashar for his memory.  His name is Najih and he is the freed slave of Banu Hashim.  Muhammad said, I do not report anything from him although the people have reported from him.  And Mohammad said, the Hadith of Abdulla bin Ja'far al-Makhrami from Uthman bin Mhammad al-Akhnasi from Sa'id al-Maqburi from Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)  is stronger and more correct  that the Hadith of Abu Mashar.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 196

There is another chain in which Abu Hurairah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is reported to have said :   the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'What is between the east and the west is Qibla.'

And they call him Abdullah bin Ja'far al-Makhrami because he is descendant of Al-Miswar bin Makhrama.  Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.  'What is between the East and the West is Qibla' has been reported from more than one of the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), among them are Umar bin al-Khattab, Ali bin Abi Talib and Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم).  Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said when the West is to you right, and the East to your left, then what is between them is Qibla when you are facing the Qibla.  Al-Mubarak said 'what is between the East and the West is Qibla'  is for the people of the East.  And Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak preferred that the people of Merv (a place in Turkmenistan) face toward the left.

CHAPTER (140)

What has been related about a man who prays facing a direction other than the Qibla when it is cloudy

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 197

Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi'ah narrated from his father who said : 'We were with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) on a journey on a very dark night and we did not know the direction of the Qiblah.  So each man among us prayed in his own direction. In the morning when we mentioned that to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), then the following (verse) was revealed -  ‏فَأَيْنَمَا تُولُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ الله‏ [ So whichever side you turn you will find Allah.] (Al-Baqara - 115).

Imam Tirmidhi said there is a problem with the chain of this Hadith as we do not know of it except as a narration of Ash'ath As-Samman and Ash'at bin Said, Abu Ar-Rabiah as-Samman is weak in Ahadith.  Most of the people of knowledge held views in accordance with this.  They say that if one performs Salah when it is cloudy towards a direction other than the Qibla, then it becomes clear to him after having prayed that the prayed in a direction other than the Qibla, then his Salah is acceptable.  This is the view of Sufyan Ath-Thawri, Ibn Al-Mubarak, Ahmad and Ishaq.

CHAPTER (141)

What has been related about what is disliked to be in or  face while performing salah

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 198

Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) prohibited Salah being performed in seven places : the dung heap, the slaughtering area, the (unbelievers') graveyard, the commonly used road, the wash area, the area where camels rest and above the House of Allah (the Ka'ba).'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 199

There is another chain in which Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated a similar Hadith as above.

Imam Tirmidhi said there are narrations on this topic from Abu Marthad, Jabir and Anas Abu Marthad's (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) name is Kannaz bin Husain.  He said the chain for the Hadith of Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is not that strong.  Zaid bin Jabirah (one of the narrators in both the narrations)  has been criticized for his memory.  Imam Tirmidhi said Zaid bin Jubair Al-Kufi is more confirmed than this one and lived earlier and he heard from Ibn Umar Al-Laith bin Sa'd narrated this Hadith from Abdullah bin Umar al-Umari from Nafi from (Ibn) Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and it is similar to (Hadith 198 above).  The Hadith of Dawood from Nafi, from Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) is more appropriate and more correct than the Hadith of Al-Laith bin Sa'd.  Abdullah bin Umar al-Umari was considered weak by some of the people of Hadith due to his memory and one of these scholars was Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan.

CHAPTER (142)

Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'Perform Salah in sheep pens but do not pray in the camels' resting area.'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 201

There is another chain in which Abu Hurairah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated a similar Hadith from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).

There are narrations on this topic from Jabir bin Samurah, Al-Bara, Sabrah bin Ma'bad Al-Juhani, Abdullah bin Mughaffal, Ibn Umar and Anas Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  This is acted upon according to our companions and it is the saying of Ahmad and Ishaq.  The Hadith of Abu Hasin (a narrator in this chain of Hadith) from Abu Salih, from Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) is a Gharib Hadith.  Israil reported it from Abu Hasin from Abu Salih from Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) which is a Mawquf as he did not narrate it in Marfu form. Abi Hasin's name is Uthman bin Asim Al-Asadi.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 202

Anas bin Malik (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) would perform Salah in sheep pens.'

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.  Abu At-Tayya (Ad-Dubei's) (one of the narrators) name is Yazid bin Humaid.

CHAPTER (143)

What has been related about Salah on a beast (during travel) whichever direction it is facing

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 203

Jabir (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) dispatched me for something he needed. I came to him while he was performing Salah on his mount, heading east, he made the prostrations lower than the bowing.'

There are narrations on this topic from Anas, Ibn Umar, Abu Sa'id and Amir bin Rabiah Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Jabir (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  This Hadith is also related from other routes to Jabir This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.  In general, we do not know of any differences among them about it.  They do not see any harm in a man performing voluntary Salah on his mount, facing whichever direction it is headed, toward the Qibla or not.

CHAPTER (144)

What has been related about Salah towards one's Mount

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 204

Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) performed Salah towards his she-camel, or his mount, and he would perform Salah while on his mount, whichever direction it was facing.'

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.  It is the view of some of the people of knowledge, who do not see any harm in Salah toward a she-camel that one uses as a Sutra.

CHAPTER (145)

What has been related about when supper is present and the Iqama is called for Salah the begin with supper

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 205

Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When supper is present and the Iqama for Salat has been called, then begin with supper.'

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is Hasan Sahih Hadith.  This is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), among them are Abu Bakr, Umar and Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہما).  It is the view of Ahmad and Ishaq that one is to begin with supper even if one misses Salah in the congregation. Imam Tirmidhi said, 'I heard Al-Jarud saying : I heard Waki saying the following about this Hadith : Begin with supper when the food is such that one fears it spoiling'.   But the view of some of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and others is more worthy of being followed.  They only wanted that a man not stand in Salah while his heart is distracted by something else.  It has been related that Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said 'We do not stand in Salah while there is something distracting in our Nufoos.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 206

Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When the supper is presented and the Iqama is called for Salah, then begin with the supper.'

Imam Tirmidhi said it was narrated to us by Hannad (who said) Abdah narrated to us from Ubaidullah from Nafi from Ibn Umar

What has been related about Salah when feeling sleepy

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 207

Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When one of you is sleepy and he is performing Salah, then let him lie down until the sleep is gone from him. For when one of you performs Salat while he is sleepy, perhaps he wants to seek forgiveness but he curses himself.'

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) is Hasan Sahih Hadith.  There are narrations on this topic from Anas and Abu Huraira

What has been related about whoever visits a people, he does not lead them in Salah

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 208

Abu Atiyyah narrated that a man among them said : 'Malik bin Al-Huwairith (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) came to us in our Musalla to narrate. One day when it was time for Salah, we told him to go ahead (to lead the prayer). He said : 'Let one of you go forward, until I narrate to you why I would not go forward (to lead prayer).  I heard the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saying : "Whoever visits a people, then he does not lead them, but a man among them leads them."

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.  This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and others.  They say that the owner of the house has more right to be the Imam that the visitor.  Some of the people of knowledge said that when the visitor is given permission then there is no harm if he leads them in Salah.  Ishaq commented on the Hadith of Malik bin Al-Huwairith (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) : 'He was very strict on the view that no one should lead the owner of the house in Salah even if he is given the permission to do so.  The same thing applies in the case of the Masjid (he does not lead them in Salah in the Masjid) when he visits them.  Rather, a man from among them should lead them in Salah.

CHAPTER (148)

What has been related about 'it is disliked for the Imam to specify himself with supplications'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 209

Thawban (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'It is not allowed for a man to look into the interior of a man's house until he has been given permission, for if he looks, then he has entered. And one who leads people (in Salah) should not supplicate for himself alone with the exclusion of his congregation. If he does, then he has betrayed them. And one is not to stand for Salah while he has to urinate.'

Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Thawban (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Hadith.  There are narrations on this topic from Abu Huraira and Abu Umama This Hadith was reported from Muawiya bin Salih, from As-Safr bin Nusair from Yazid bin Shuraih from Abu Umama (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). This Hadith was (also) reported from Yazid bin Shuraih from Abu Huraira from the Prophet It is as if the narration of Yazid bin Shuraih from Abu Hayy al-Muad-dhin, from Thawban (a narrator in the chain of this Hadith) is the best and most popular chain for this.

CHAPTER (149)

What has been related about whoever leads people in Salah while they dislike him

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 210

Anas bin Malik (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) cursed three people : A man who leads people (in Salah) while they dislike him, a woman who spends a night while her husband is angry with her, and a man who hears - حَىَّ عَلَى الْفَلاَحِ [come to success] then does not respond.'

There are narrations on this topic from Ibn Abbas, Talhah, Abdullah bin Amr and Abu Umamah Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is not correct because it has been reported from Al-Hasan, from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) which is Mursal.  Imam Tirmidhi said, Muhammad bin Al-Qasim (one of the narrators) has been criticized by Ahmad bin Hanbal and he graded him weak.  He is not a proficient memorizer and narrator of Hadith.  There are those among the people of knowledge who dislike a man to lead the people in Salah while they dislike him.  If the Imam is not an oppressor, then the sin is only on those who dislike him.  Ahmad and Ishaq said about this : there is no harm if one , two or three people dislike him - not until most of the people dislike him.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 211

Amr bin Al-Harith Al-Mustaliq (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated : 'It used to be said that the people with the worst punishment (on the Day of Judgment) are two : A woman who disobeyed her husband, and a people's Imam whom they dislike.'

Hannad said, Jarir (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported : So we asked about the case of the Imam.  We were told that this only refers to the oppressive Imam.  As for the Imam who establishes the Sunnah, then the sin is only on whoever dislikes him.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 212

Abu Umamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostlel of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'There are three whose Salah would not rise up beyond their ears : The runaway slave until he returns, a woman who spends a night while her husband is angry with her, and a people's Imam whom they dislike.'

Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Gharib from this route.  Abu Ghalib's (one of the narrators) name is Hazawwar.

CHAPTER (150)

What has been related about the Prophet's () saying 'When the Imam leads Salah while seated, then you  Perform salat seated'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 213

Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) performed Salah behind Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ), during the illness from which he died, and he was sitting.'

Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) is a Hasan Sahih Gharib Hadith.  It has been reported that Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, when the Imam performs Salah sitting then (all of you) pray sitting.  It has also been narrated from her that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) went out during his illness and Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) was leading the people in Salah, so he prayed beside Abu Bakr ().  The people were following Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) was following the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  It has also been narrated that she said the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) performed Salah behind Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) while seated.  And it has also been narrated that Anas bin Malik (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) performed Salah behind Abu Bakr () and he was seated.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 215

Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) performed Salah during his illness behind Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) while seated, wrapped in a garment.

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.  He said this was reported by Yahya bin Ayyub from Humaid (from Thabit), from Anas And it was also reported from others from Humaid, from Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and they did not mention in it 'from Thabit'.  Whoever mentioned 'from Thabit' in it, then he is more correct.

CHAPTER (152)

What has been related about the Imam getting up forgetfully after two raka

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 216

Ash-Sha'bi narrated that Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) led us in Salah, and he continued after the two Rak'a, so the people said : 'Subhan Allah' and he said : 'Subhan Allah' to them. When he finished his Salah he said the Taslim then performed two prostrations of As-Sahw while he was sitting. Then he narrated to them that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) did the same with them as he had done.'

There are narrations on this topic from Uqbah bin Amir, Sa'd and Abdullah bin Buhainah Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Al-Mughira bin Shubah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) has been reported from ore than route from Al-Mughira bin Shubah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ).  Imam Tirmidhi said, some of the people of knowledge have criticized Ibn Abi Laila due to his memory.  Ahmad said, the narrations of Ibn Abi Laila are not used as proof.  Muhammad bin Ismail (Bukhari) said, 'Ibn Abi Laila is truthful but I do not report from him because he did not know the authentic from the weak of his narrations.  Thus I do not report anything from anyone whose case is like this.'   This Hadith has been reported from other routes from Al-Mughira bin Shubah Sufyan reported it from Jabir, from Al-Mughira bin Shubail, from Qais bin Abi Hazim, from Al-Mughirah bin Shubah But Jabir Al-Ju'fi was graded weak by some of the people of knowledge.  Yahya bin Sa'id, Abdur Rahman bin Mahdi and others abandoned him.  This is to be acted upon according to the people of knowledge in that when a manstands after two raka, he continues in his Salah and performs two prostrations.  Some of them thought it should be before the Taslim and others that it should be after the Taslim.  And whoever thought that it should before the Taslim, then his Hadith is more correct since it has been reported by Az-Zuhri and Yahya bin Sa'id al-Ansari from Abdur Rahman al-A'raj from Abdullah bin Buhainah.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 217

Ziyad bin Haqah narrated that Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) led us in Salah. When he prayed two Rak'a he stood without sitting. Those who were behind him said 'Subhan Allah' and he indicated to them that they should stand. He said the Taslim when he had finished his Salah and he performed two prostrations of As-Sahw, and said the Taslim. He said that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) did this."

Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.  This Hadith has been narrated from more than one route from Al-Mughirah from the Prophet

Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated from his father (Abdullah bin Mas'ud  -  رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that he said : 'When the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) sat for the first two Rak'a it was as if he was on hot stones.'  Shu'bah (one of the narrators) said : 'Then Sa'd's lips moved (saying) something. So I said : 'Until he stood?' He said : 'Until he stood.'

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan, except that Abu Ubaidah (one of the narrators) did not hear from his father.  This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.  They refer that a man does not sit long after the first two Rak'a and that he does not add anything to the Tashh-hud after the first two raka.  They say that if he adds to the Tashah-hud then he has to perform two prostrations for As-Sahw.  This has been related from Ash-Shabi and others.

CHAPTER (154)

What has been related about making gestures during the Salah

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 219

Suhaib (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated : 'I passed by the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) while he was performing Salah, so I greeted him with Salam, and he returned it by a gesture.' He said : 'I do not know except that he said : 'He indicated with his finger.'

There are narrations on this topic from Bilal, Abu Huraira, Anas and Ummul Momineen Aisha

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 220

'I said to Bilal (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) : 'How did the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) reply to them when they gave him Salams and he was performing Salat?'  He said : 'He would motion with his hand.'

Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Sahih and the (previous) Hadith of Suhaib is Hasan as we do not know of it except as  a narration of Al-Laith from Bukair.  And it has been related from Zaid bin Aslam, from Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that he said, ' I said to Bilal (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ), what would the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) do when they would greet him with Salam in Masjid Bamu Amr bin Awf?'  He said, he (the Prophet  ﷺ) would reply by indicating (with his hand).  And both of the narrations are correct in my view, because the story with the Hadith of Suhaib is not the same story as that in the Hadith of Bilal (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and even though Ibn Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported it from both of them, it implies that he heard it from both of them.

CHAPTER (155)

What has been related about 'the Tasbih is for the men and clapping is for women'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 221

Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'The Tasbih is for the men and clapping is for the women.'

There are narrations on this topic from Ali, Sahl bin Sa'd, Jabir, Abu Sa'id and Ibn Umar Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said, I would say Subhan Allah if I wanted to seek permission  from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) while he was performing Salah.  Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge and it is the view of Ahmad and Ishaq.

CHAPTER (156)

What has been related about 'it is disliked to yawn during the Salah'

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 222

Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : "Yawning in prayer (salah) is from the Shaitan, so when one of you yawns then let him suppress (it) as much as possible.'

There are narrations on this topic from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and the grandfather of Adi bin Thabit (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہما).  Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  The people of knowledge dislike yawning during Salah.  Ibrahim said, I repel the yawn by clearing my throat.

CHAPTER (157)

What has been related about the Salah while sitting is half of the salah while standing

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 223

Imran bin Husain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that he asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) about the Salat for a man who is sitting. He said : 'Whoever performs Salah standing is more virtuous. And whoever performs Salah while sitting,  he gets half the rewards of the one standing. And whoever performs Salah while lying down, then he gets half the rewards of the one sitting.'

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Imran bin Husain is Hasan Sahih Hadith. There are narrations on this topic from Abdullah bin Amr, Anas, As-Sa'ib and Ibn Umar

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 224

This Hadith has been related from Ibrahim bin Tahman with this chain, except that he said : 'From Imran bin Husain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) who said he asked the Aapostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) about Salah for a sick person. He said : 'He performs Salah standing, if he is not able then sitting, if he is not able then on his side.'

Imam Tirmidhi said this was narrated to us by Hannad (who said) Waki narrated it to us from Ibrahim bin Tahman from Husain al-Muallim who narrated this Hadith.  He said we do not know anyone reporting a narration from Husain al-Muallim like that of Ibrahim bin Tahman.  Abu Usama and others reported it from Husain al-Muallim like the narration of Eisa bin Yunus (a narrator in Hadith (# 223 above).  According to some of the people of knowledge, this Hadith refers to the voluntary prayers.  Muhammad bin Bash-shar narrated to us that Ibn Abi Adi informed us from Ash'at bin Abdul Malik from Al-Hasan who said, 'If he wants, a man can pray voluntary Salah standing, sitting or lying down.  The people of knowledge differ over the Salah of the sick person when he is not able to pray sitting.  Some of th people of knowledge said that he prays on his right side.  Some of them said he prays lying on his back with his legs towards Qibla.  Regarding the Hadith : Whoever perform Salah while sitting, then he gets half the reward of the one standing', Sufyan Ath-Thawri said, this is for the healthy person and for anyone who does not have some excuse.  As for one who has an excuse, be it an illness or otherwise, then he performs Salah sitting and he gets the same reward as for standing.  Some of the narrations of this Hadith have been reported in a way that is similar to what Sufyan Ath-Thawri said.

CHAPTER (158)

What has been related about voluntary prayers while sitting

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 225

Ummul Momineen Hafsah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that she did not see the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) praying voluntary prayers sitting until the year before he died. Then he would perform Salah for the voluntary prayers sitting, and he would recite a Surah and prolong it such that it would be longer than the longest of them.'

There are narrations on this topic from Ummul Momineen Umm Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) and Anas bin Malik ().  Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Ummul Momineen Hafsa (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  It has been narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) would perform some Salah at night while sitting, then when about thirty or forty verses were remaining of his recitation, he would stand to recite, then bow then do the same in the second Raka.  It has also been reported that he would pray sitting so that when he recited and he was standing, he would bow and prostrate while he was standing and if he recited while he was sitting, he would bow and prostrate while he was sitting.  Ahmad and Ishaq said that one is to act according to both Ahadith.  It is as if they thought that both of the Ahadith were authentic and should be acted upon.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 226

Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) would perform Salah while sitting. And he would recite while sitting. When about thirty or forty Ayah of his recitation remained he would standup and recite while he was standing, then he would bow and prostrate. He would do the same in the second Rak'ah."

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 227

Abdullah bun Shaqiq narrated from Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) that he asked her about the voluntary Salah of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). She said : 'He would pray long into the night standing, and long into the night sitting. So when he recited and he was standing, he would bow and prostrate while standing, and when he recited while he was sitting, he bowed and prostrated while he was sitting.'

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

CHAPTER (159)

What has been related about the Prophet () saying : 'I hear the crying of a small boy during the Salah and shorten it

Anas bin Malik (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'Indeed I hear the crying of a small boy while I am in Salah, so I shorten it in fear that his mother may suffer.'

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  There are narrations on this topic from Abu Qatada, Abu Sa'id and Abu Huraira

What has been related about the Salah of a woman who has reached the age of menstruation is not accepted without a head cover

Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'The Salah of a women who has reached the age of menstruation is not accepted without a Khimar.'

There is something on this topic from Abdullah bin Amr.  And his saying 'Al-Ha'id' means a woman who has reached the age of menstruation.  Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) is a Hasan Hadith.  It is acted upon according to the people of knowledge and they say that when a woman performs Salah and some of her hair is uncovered then here Salah is not acceptable.  This is the view of Ash-Shafii who said, the Salah of a woman is not acceptaable if anything of her body remains uncovered.  And Ash-Shafii said, it has been said that if the tops of her feet are uncovered then her salah is acceptable.

CHAPTER (161)

What has been related about As-Sadl being disliked during the Salah

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 230
Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) prohibited As-Sadl in the Salah.

Explanation

As-Sadl means to keep a chador over the head and shoulder and leave its both ends untide or to wrap oneself in a cloth keeping the hands inside, or wear typical clothes which are condictory to customary Muslim appearance.

CHAPTER (162)

What has been related about 'it is disliked to smooth the pebbles during the Salah'
Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 231

Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When one of you stands for Salah then he should not smoothen the pebbles, for indeed it is mercy that he is facing.'

There are narrations on this topic from Ali bin Abi Talib, Hudhaifa, Jabir bin Abdullah and Muaiqib Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Hadith.  It has been reported that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) disliked smoothening out the pebbles during Salah and he said  'if you must do so, then only once'.  It is as if he has allowed doing it one time.  This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 232

Mu'aiqib (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that he asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) about smoothening the pebbles during Salah. He said : 'If you must do so, then let it be only once.'

Imam Tirmidhi said this Hadith is Sahih.

CHAPTER (163)

What has been related about 'it is disliked to blow from mouth during the Salah'
Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 233

Ummul Momineen Umm Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw a boy of ours - called Aflah - blowing when he prostrated. So he said : 'O Aflah! Put your face in the dirt.'

Ahmad bin Mani said, Abad bin al-Awwam disliked blowing in Salah and he said that blowing does not invalidate the Salah.  Ahmad bin Mani said, this is our opinion.  Imam Tirmidhi said some narrate this Hadith from Abu Hamza (one of the narrators) saying  'a freed slave of ours who was called Rabah.

Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 234

There is another chain for this Hadith in which Abu Hamzah narrated : 'A boy of ours named Rabah.'

Imam Tirmidhi said the chain for the Hadith of  Ummul Momineen Umm Salama (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) is not that strong.  Maimun Abu Hamza was graded weak by some of the people of knowledge.  The people of knolwedge differ over blowing during Salah, some of them said if he blows during the Salah he restarts his Salah.  This is the saying of Sufyan Ath-Thawri and the people of Kufa.  Some of them said that blowing in the Salah is disliked but if he blows in his Salah, it does not invalidate his Salah.  This is the saying of Ahmad and Ishaq.

Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) prohibited  people to pray with their hands on hip.

There is something on this topic from Ibn Umar Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.  There are those among the people of knowledge who disliked 'al-Ikhtisar' in Salah.  Al-Ikhtisar is that a man places his hand on his hip during the Salah.  Some of them considered it disliked for a man to walk with his hands on his hip (or to place both of his hands on hips).  It has been related that when Iblis walks, he walks with his hands on his hips.

CHAPTER (165)

What has been related about 'it is disliked (for men) to tie the hair during Salah
Jami at-Tirmidhi, Vol 1,  Bk 2,  Hadith # 236

Abu Rafi (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that he passed by Imam Hasan bin Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) while he was praying and he had tied his locks at the back of his head, so he (Abu Rafi) undid them, and Imam Hasan (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) turned to him angrily. He said : 'resume your Salah and do not be angry, for indeed I heard the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saying : 'That is the seat of Ash-Shaitan.'

There are narrations on this topic from Ummul Momineen Umma Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) and Abdullah bin Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ).  Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Abu Rafi (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Hadith.  This is acted upon according to the people of  knowledge.  They dislike for a man to perform Salah with his hair tied at at the back of his head.  Imam Tirmidhi said, Imran bin Musa (one of the narrators) is from the Quraish of Makka and he is Ayyub bin Musa's brother.

Al-Fadl bin Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)  said : 'Salah is two and two, with a Tashah-hud for every two Rak`a, with humility, imploring, having a sense of tranquility, pleading and showing helplessness and stretching out your hand' - he said : 'raising them to your Lord, with the insides of them facing your face, saying : 'O Lord! O Lord! And whoever does not do this, then it is like this or that.'

Imam Tirmidhi said 'I heard Muhammad bin Ismail saying  'Shubah reported this Hadith from Abdur Rabbih bin Sa'id, but was mistaken in a number of places.  He said 'from Anas bin Abi Anas', while it is Imran bin Abi Anas.  And he said, from Abdullah bin Al-Harith, while it is Abdullah bin Nafi bin Al-Amya, from Rabiah bin Al-Harith.  And Shubah said, from Abdullah bin Al-Harith from al-Mutallib from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) while it is only from Rabiah bin Harith bin Abdul Muttalib from Al Fadl bin Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ), from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  Muhammad said, the Hadith of Al-Laith bin Sa'd is more correct than the Hadith of Shubah.

CHAPTER (167)

Ka'b bun Ujrah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostlel of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'When one of you performs Wudu and does so well, then he leaves intending to go to the Masjid, then let him not intertwine his fingers, for indeed he is in Salah'.

Imam Tirmidhi said the Hadith of Ka'b bin Ujra (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) has been reported by more than one from Ibn Ajlan in a manner that is similar to the narration of Al-Laith (a narrator in the chain of the Hadith).  Sharik narrated it from Muhammad bin Ajlan, from his father, from Abu Huraira (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and it is similar to this Hadith.  But the narration of Sharik is not preserved.

Jabir (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that it was enquired from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) : 'Which Salat is most virtuous?' He said : 'That with the longest Qunut.'

Imam Tirmidhi said, the Hadith of Jabir bin Abdulla (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) is a Hasan Sahih Hadith and it has been reported by more than one route from Jabir bin Abdullah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)
